Chevrette refers to a small, common shrimp which grows up to 6 cm (2½ inches) long It has a soft shell and turns greyish-brown when cooked. It has excellent flavour. It is found on Sandy shores in Aunis in Charentes, France. It is also known as crevette.

Chevrette is a French and pronounced "sheh-vreht".
