Kah min is a Thai term for turmeric (Curcuma longa). It looks like a small ginger with brown rhizones, but when peeled, the inside flesh is bright orange. I have tasted this the first time in my life in the home province of my mother, Marinduque, an island in the south of the Philippines. My auntie used it mostly when she is cooking fish or chicken with coconut milk.
