Green chile
Green chile for Taos Pueblo Indians refers to a popular vegetable which can range in spiciness from very hot to mild, or a condiment made by removing the skin and seeds from fresh roasted green chiles. It is sometimes called chile pepper. For Taos Pueblo Indians, green chile is also the name for a stew-like main dish made with roasted green chiles and meat and sometimes other vegetables.
