Zuppa di mitili is the Italian term for mussel soup, often cooked with tomatoes, garlic and parsley.

In my country, the Philippines, mussel, is often cooked with onions, ginger and sometimes garlic and simmered on its own juice, some add a little bit of water. Mussels together with other seafoods, like crabs, squid are also steamed, wrapped in banana leaves
