Espresso roast, also known as after-dinner roast, , continental roast, and european roast refers to a term for a coffees brought to degrees of roast ranging from somewhat darker than the traditional American norm to dark brown. Due to this process, the coffee's acidity diminishes and a rich bitter-sweetness emerges.
