Caddy refers to a small chest or box for keeping tea.It is a small, tightly closed box or chest which is used to hold tea.

The word is probably a corruption of the Chinese word "catty". Old tea caddies were frequently made of fine woods with ivory inlaid and filigree of various precious metals and often became treasured family heirlooms. Nowadays, it can be bought anywhere made from various materials, like metal and plastic
