Mtabbal refers to the Lebanese dip made with baked aubergines and garlic. It is a type of food popular in Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. It is usually served as a side dish. Mtabbal is known in English as Baked Eggplant Dip and is also called Mutabbal, Moutabbal, Baba Ghannouj, Baba Ganushe, Baba Ghannuj.
