Sylter Sturmsack refers to a big cream puff (Windbeutel ) cut in half and then filled with a lot of whipped cream and sweetened/preserved cherries. Sylter Sturmsack is one of the special cakes from Sylt, a famous island north of Germany. Perhaps named as such since the whipped cream inside the cream puff looks like an eye of the storm. Cafe Wein, one of the well-known cafes in Sylt has this specialy on their menu.
