When a dish is cooked "all'Abruzzese, it often includes diavolicchi, a small red hot chilli grown in large quantities in Abruzzo and also tomatoes which are well known ingredient in Abruzzo dishes. Fagioli all'abruzzese is one example where hot chilis and tomatoes are the main ingredient, aside from the beans
