Kümmel is the German word for "Caraway". In many German food shops and famers' market there are so many available herbs and spices which are still in pots and many households use fresh than dried because they are always available.

This is one of the things I love about living in Germany, I can always purchase fresh and cheap herbs and spices in their food shops and weekly farmers' market even at winter is always coming up.
