Marathi refers to one of the many languages of India. Marathi is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Marathi people of western and central India and the the official language of the state of Maharashtra. Beside Marathi, other languages spoken in India are: Hindi , Assamee, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Sinhala, Tamil and Telugu.
