Shashlyk refers to skewered chunks of mutton barbecued over charcoal. To prepare this dish, the meat is cubed, marinated and threaded on metal skewers and roasted on charcoals. It is one of the dishes in Kyrgyzstan and also of Russia. This dish which originated from the Caucasus has become a must for every grill party and outside picnic.
