Gelato is the Italian term for ice cream. It literally means "frozen". A Gelato is made from milk, cream and sugar with flavorings, such as fruit and many others. 

Below is a fruit-flavored (Melon) and Caramel flavored Gelato from my favorite Gelateria in Bremen, Germany. 

I will never get tired eating 1 or 2 kugel (scoops of ice cream) of Gelato from this Gelateria which is operated by an Italian couple who now established their Gelateria in Germany
