Fesenjan is a type of Iranian stew made with duck or chicken, pomegranate juice and walnuts
Other definition:
Fesenjan refers to an Arabic stew made with a very rich sauce of grinded walnuts and pomegranate puree and onion to provide a bedding for steamed chicken.

During the 83rd birthday of my father-in-law, a Labanese woman who cooked and catered the food, included this stew in our menu. I was reminded of my Filipino dinuguan, as this stew is also colored brown or like light black. It is a bit sour, but really tasted good
