Muhallebici refers to Pudding shops in Turkey. It is said that in the earlier times there were no bakeshops or patisseries in Turkey, only Muhallebici or pudding shops which were considered as special places for special events and a special place for a man to declare his love for a woman; said to be a meeting point for lovers. Muhallebici during the earlier times were small and they only served or offered desserts made specifically with milk, like Muhallebi (pudding), Sütlaç (Turkish rice pudding) and Keskül.
