Barfi refers to an Indian fudge-like dessert made from condensed milk which is cooked slowly and reduced to fudge-like consistency. To flavor the Barfi, ingredients like pistachio, almonds, saffron, vanilla essence, cocoa, rose water , or other flavors of choice can be added. Dessicated coconut can also be used to prepare this sweet. It is served and eaten in bite-sized pieces and very popular as after-dinner dessert.
