Gorizia refers to the municipality and province in Friuli on the border between Italy and Slovenia. It is a small town at the foot of the Alps, in northeastern Italy, on the border with Slovenia. It is known as Gorica, Görz and
Gurize, in Slovenian, German and Friulian, respectively.
