Turrón de Doña Pepa refers a very popular and traditional dessert from Peru which is especially prepared during the "Señor de los Milagros" religious celebrations in October. It is flour dough with margarine, yolks, salt and anise that is baked. The baked layers of anise cookie are then bathed with cane syrup called Chancaca and topped with caramels and colorful candies.
