Boeuf a la Bourguignonne is French for a beef stew made "Burgundy style" ("Burgundian beef"). This dish is usually made with a red Burgundy wine as part of the liquid, and usually onions and mushrooms. However, it can also be made with a white Burgundy, and frequently some brandy is added to the stew.
