Panades refers to the nationwide favorite food in Belize. It is made from corn masa, folded and fried until cripsy and served with vinegar and onion sauce spiced up with habanero pepper

 

Panades are a delicious snack and are available with various fillings - fish, chicken, beef, potato, or beans. It can be bought in Belize on the bus, from a bucket or a bike, or from a street food. Panades are usually served on paper, with a side of sauce.
