Sancocho is a stew containing several meats, plantain, vegetables and other choice ingredients. It is one of the well known dishes in the Dominican Republic, a Caribbic island. The preparation of sancocho is a social occasion in the Dominican Republic because of its long preparation time of approximately 90 minutes.
