Atsara

Atsara is the Filipino word which refers to pickled grated papaya. Used as a side dish and as accompaniment for fried or grilled meat and fish. Bottled Atsara are found im most supermarkets all over the Philippines.

Atsara is also spelled as Achara.

Asuhos is the Filipino word for a kind of fish.

Ampalaya

Ampalaya (Scientific name: Momordica charantia L.) is the Filipino term for Amargoso, Balsam apple, Bitter melon. It is a kind of vegetable found in the Philippines with a bitter taste.
