Ila refers to a Nigerian dish made of okra that is cut up or sliced into small pieces, and boiled in water. Ila has also a slippery texture like that of Ewedu. Ila maybe serve and eaten with Eba, Amala, Fufu or Iyan

Iresi is the Nigerian term for "rice". Rice is cooked in several ways in Nigeria. (1) Wwhite is rice cooked or steamed in water, then usually covered with soup which is eaten with beans, plantains, me or fish; (2) Jollof rice: rice cooked with ground tomatoes, peppers, sometimes meat and vegetables, other spices, and comes out reddish in color which is eaten with beans, plantain meat or fish; and (3) Fried ricwhich are cooked in oils, vegetables, meats, and spices which is eaten with plantain, beans, meat or fish.

Ice Cream Soda refers to a beverage made of carbonated water, a flavored syrup, and a scoop or more of ice cream.

Ice Milk refers to a sorbet to which a small amount of milk has been added. It is lighter and icier than ice cream. Moreover, Ice Milk refers to a sweet frozen food similar to ice cream but contains less butterfat.

Isot Reçeli refers to a Turkish preserve or relish made from Urfa red peppers that is used as a spread. Isot Reçeli also means Isot pepper jam.

Iftar is the Turkish word which means: 1. the fasting breaking dinner in Ramadan: 2. the food eaten to break Ramadan 3. the breaking of the Ramadan fast; and 4. the evening meal during Ramadan During the Ramada celebration, particularly after sundown or sunset families eat perhaps their best meal of the year that they have saved for the celebration.
