Latik is a Filipino term which means "coconut granules". It is granular brown reside which resulted from simmering coconut milk for about a minute or less until brownish granules forms. Latik is used as a topping for traditional sweets of the Philippines, like Biko, Maja Blanca, Suman and Sapin-Sapin, among others.
