Muar Chee

Muar Chee refers to steamed glutinous rice flour dough which is rolled in a mixture of ground peanuts, sugar and roasted sesame seeds. Muar Chee is one of the hawkers food found in Penang. Penang is a state in Malaysia and foods found in the state is widely regarded as the best in Malaysia. I think I like to try to prepare this dessert. It is easy to buy glutinous rice flour dought in the Philippine, peanuts is cheap and I will bring sesame seeds from Germany. In the Philippines we can always buy a ready-made glutinous rice flour dought since we use it to make round balls as big as a marble which we use as one of the ingredients for Guinatan/Ginatan, one of the most popular snacks found in the Philippines. I am excited!

Mazzah

Mazzah refer to Hors d'oeuvre or appteizers in Arabic, such as stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ghannuj, pickled turnips, olives and raw kubbah. Lebanese are famous in the Middle East with their "Mazzah" small dishes, which are served before the main dish. Lebanese use a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and olive oil in their cuisine. Because of the harsh winter weather in the mountainous areas, villagers are used to preserving a lot of their food. They managed to pickle everything from cucumbers, cauliflower to grape leaves. They make fruit leathers of apricot, figs, peaches and apples and preserve cheeses and make syrups.

Muhallebici

Muhallebici refers to Pudding shops in Turkey. It is said that in the earlier times there were no bakeshops or patisseries in Turkey, only Muhallebici or pudding shops which were considered as special places for special events and a special place for a man to declare his love for a woman; said to be a meeting point for lovers. Muhallebici during the earlier times were small and they only served or offered desserts made specifically with milk, like Muhallebi (pudding), Sütlaç (Turkish rice pudding) and Keskül.
