Kozhakkatta refers to a popular South Indian sweet dumpling made from rice flour filled with grated coconut and jaggery and is similar to Modak made in other parts of India.

Kadala is the Malayalam term for chick peas or chickpeas. It is known as Garbanzos in Philippines. It is also known as Bengal Gram. In India, Kadala comes in two (2) varieties: the regular beige-colored Kadala and black and always available in food stores.

Kashmiri ver

Kashmiri ver refers to a doughnut-shaped cake of ground spices with a strong and pungent aroma. Ver comes in the form of a thin, hard cake with a hole in its center. It can contain garlic and praan (Kashmir onion a strange Cross between a spring onion or scallion and a shallot) for Muslims, asafetida and fenugreek for Hindus as well as lots of freshly ground red chilies, cumin, coriander, dried ginger, cloves, cardamom and turmeric.
