Siopao

Siopao refers to a Filipino snack of steamed meat buns with meatballs or meat inside the bun, sometimes with added sliced Itlog na Maalat (salted red egg).

A regular Siopao is filled with meat and Bola Bola Siopao is with meatballs filling. To recognized which is which, the Bola Bola Siopao is always with a red dot on top of the bun. Quite interesting indeed.

Sitsaro is the Filipino term for snow pean or pes pod.

Sinigwelas / Siniguelas

Sinigwelas / Siniguelas refer to native plums found in the Philippines which only comes during summer season. They are eaten as is straight from the tree.

When I was a child summer is synonymous with Siniguelas. One of my favorite native fruits which I never ever found in all my travels.
