Dotorimuk-muchim

Dotorimuk-muchim (Seasoned Acorn Starch Jelly) . It is a Korean dish made of jellied acorn starch, vegetables and seasoning sauce. Dotorimuk-muchim was considered a specialty or a dish for the relief of the famine victims in olden days when provisions were scarce. Recently, it has become a popular diet food because it is in low calories. Dotorimuk-muchim is a side dish in which small chunks of Dotorimuk (acorn jelly) are seasoned and mixed with other ingredients such as slivered carrots and scallions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, red chili pepper powder, and sesame seeds.The practice of making Dotorimuk originated in mountainous areas of ancient Korea, when abundant oak trees produced enough acorns each autumn to become a viable source of food.

Dongdongju

Dongdongju (Thick Rice Beer) refers to a Korean beer made by fermenting rice with yeast. In Korean, the term Dongdongju suggests something "floating", which refers to the rice grains that are usually floating on top of the beer.

Deodeok-saengchae

Deodeok-saengchae (Deodeok Salad). Deodeok-saengchae is a Korean food (salad) made from thinly ripped deodeok roots mixed with spicy and sour seasonings. Deodeok is referred to as Sasam (ginseng from sand). It is high in saponin like ginseng and bellflower roots. Deodeok is also valued for its medicinal properties. In Oriental medicine, it is considered a health food that is good for the stomach, and strengthens the lungs, intestines and kidney.

Dak-kkochi

Dak-kkochi refers to grilled chicken on skewer and drenched with chili pepper glaze or soy sauce dressing. Dak-kkochi, with its smell and sweet-spicy taste is a great accompaniment to drinks. Dak-kkochi is one of the popular street snacks/foods in Korea

Drying

Drying is a method of preservation whereby the food is dehydrated of all moisture thereby preventing the growth of harmful bacteria. Examples of food prepared using Drying method are: Beef Jerky, dried apples, raisins, dried fruits, dried fish, etc.
