Laing

Another Bicolano favorite is the famous laing — known as natong in the region — Gabi (taro leaves) cooked in coconut milk and may contain deboned daing (salted fish) or Prawns . Laing can be served spicy or not, the level of its spiciness depending on how much chili the cook puts in or how long the dish sits before being consumed, the chili’s hotness constantly infusing the rest of the ingredients.

It is usually served as a side dish but some Bicolanos also consider it as an entre. It is also usually served with Bicol Express as foodies may want to spice the meal up an extra notch

Lakh

Lakh refers to Gambia's dessert - a kind of sweetened porridge mix made from the fruits of the baobab tree, millet couscous and peanut butter. Lakh is known in Senegal as Ngalakh and during the naming ceremonies, Lakh or Ngalakh, a delicious millet porridge is served with sweet yoghurt or baobab cream is typically serve in large bowls. Lakka

Lakka is the Finnish word for cloudberries and also refers to the Finnish liqueur which is actually made from Arctic cloudberries. Lakka are orange-colored raspberry shaped berries growing on marshlands and swamps. Lakka are eaten either fresh as they are with a sprinkle of sugar on top, made into jam or eaten frozen with Kinuski-Kastike and ice cream. Lakka is also known as Hilla. Lakka also refers to Finland's traditional liqueur which owes its name and distinctive flavor from the cloudberry fruit, called Lakka. It is made by soaking the (Lakka) fruits in alcohol for about six (6) months until they sweeten. The major producers of Lakka are Chymos and Lapponia, both owned by V&S Group, best known for its flagship Absolut Vodka. Lakka liqueur is usually served after a meal as a dessert drink, but it can be also mixed with hot coffee or other spirits.
