Mantika is the Filipino word for "cooking oil", particularly vegetable oil usually used for ordinary cooking. Butter is very seldom used in Philippine cooking as they are expensive. Nowadays, however, when there are local brands of butter already produced in the Philippines, some cooks already use butter for cooking as an alternative to "Mantika".

Morozhenoe is the name of ice cream in Russia. Russians love the Morozhenoe so it is common to find it on many restaurant menus with a variety of topping to choose from such as fruit, nuts, or chocolate. Also, Morozhenoe is sold in kiosks in the cities and found in every restaurant whether covered in fruit, chocolate or nuts. It is not only consumed during summertimes in Russia, but all-year round even of harsh winters.

- Maggi Africain (Africain Stock-Cubes) : Maggi Africain or Africain "Stock-cubes" refer to Néré seeds which are fermented and rolled into a ball e used to flavor the sauces that accompany every meal of or rice, the staple food of the Burkina Faso. Maggi Africain or Africain "Stock-cubes" are also known as Soumbala .

Makara refer to homemade fried breads which are mostly sold at roadside stands in Central African Republic. Other bakery bread, sandwiches, barbecued meat, and other snacks are also sold by women along roadside stands. Bangui is the capital of Central African Republic. The country lies at the center of Africa in a region where wooded grasslands adjoin dense rain forests and has an area of about 239,400 square miles (620,000 square kilometers). The capital, Bangui, originated at the site of a French military post established on the banks of the Ubangi River in June 1889.

Michelin Red Guide refers to the red-covered book that comes out annually, listing the "best" restaurants and hotels across the land. Initially covering only France, The Michelin Red Guide today (2010) reaches out to 23 countries across the rest of the world.

Michelin Bib Gourmand refers to a guide to the best affordably priced restaurants in France, where the value for the price is the critera. The Bib Gourmand list is a subset of the current Michelin Red Guide : The restaurants in the Bib Gourmand guide are those listed in the Red Guide with the Bib Gourmand logo, but they do not necessarily have the coveted Michelin Star.
